Door construction:

It is the quality of the components that set our door systems apart from so-called “off the shelf” door systems. Here is a quick overview of the components we use to ensure the long life of your new door system.

  1. Flexible, all temperature weatherstripping blocks out wind and rain, keeps in heated or cooled air.
  2. Thermally efficient pine frame - finger-jointed to resist warping (white vinyl frame cladding available).
  3. Adhesive backed, die cut sill gasket prevents water seepage between the sill and frame.
  4. The aluminum sill is thermally broken to eliminate frost transfer. With the adjustable sweep this system provides a true barrier against water and air infiltration.
  5. Hot dipped, galvanized steel skins wrapped around top & bottom edges. Double wrapped around vertical edges for rigidity. Both steel skins resist cracking, splitting, rusting, and warping. A factory primer is applied.
  6. The solid wood lock block provides reinforcement in the critical lock area.
  7. Solid polyurethane foam core is injected between the two steel skins to fill every air space and permanently bonded to provide outstanding insulation and stability.
  8. Continuous wood perimeter provides a thermal break between outside and inside surfaces to eliminate frost and condensation.
  9. The multi-finned adjustable vinyl sweep and corner seals provide a positive seal that enhances insulation by keeping air and water from infiltrating. The seal also keeps pests out.
